Brasted history
The name is recorded as Briestede in 1086, one of only two large manors in the hundred of Westerham described in the Domesday Book, and as Bradestede around 1100. Napoleon III lived in Brasted Place in the 19th century, Napoleon lived there. In the 18th century and earlier, Brasted had the economic advantage of a watermill. John Turton (1735–1806), famed physician to King George III, was the first owner of Brasted place.

Chatham Vase
The Chatham Vase is a stone sculpture by John Bacon commissioned as a memorial to William Pitt the Elder by his wife, Hester, Countess of Chatham. It was originally erected at their house in Burton Pynsent in 1781, then moved to Stowe House but sold in 1848, then purchased in 1857 by a member of the family and installed at Revesby Abbey.
Betsom’s Hill
Betsom’s Hill is the highest point in the county of Kent at 251 metres (823 ft) Situated between Westerham and Tatsfield, at the western edge of the county. It lies close to where the A233 crosses the Downs en route to Biggin Hill.
Quebec House
Quebec House is the birthplace of General James Wolfe on what is now known as Quebec Square in Westerham, Kent. The house dates from the mid 16th century but much of the current appearance is from the 1630s. It was originally called Spiers but renamed in honour of Wolfe’s victory at the Battle of Quebec in 1759.
