The village toponym is derived from the Old English for “home farm by a stream” In the Domesday Book of 1086 it was recorded as Bechentone. Beachampton Hall, a Grade II* listed manor house, has elements dating from the 15th century. The present house was probably built by the Piggot family.

St Michael and All Angels’ Church, Thornton St Michael and All Angels’ Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Thornton, Buckinghamshire. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade I listed building. The church stands to the north of the village, in the grounds of Thornton Hall (now a girls’ boarding school)

Deanshanger Deanshanger is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, west-northwest of Milton Keynes. The population of the civil parish (including Puxley) at the 2011 census was 3,817.

Wicken, Northamptonshire Wicken is one mile north of the A422 road between Milton Keynes and Buckingham. It forms part of West Northamptonshire district. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish’s population was 299 people.
