Norbury, Shropshire history
Norbury is a chapelry of Lydbury North Ancient Parish in Shropshire. The name Norbury can be interpreted in Anglo-Saxon to mean ‘North fortification’ This is due to the hill fort defences that are situated nearby. Norbury parish is made up of three townships, Asterton, Whitcott and Hardwick. There is a Primitive Methodist church which was built in 1839.
