About Scalloway
Scalloway (Old Norse: Skálavágr, “bay with the large house(s)”) is the largest settlement on the west coast of Mainland, the largest island of the Shetland Islands, Scotland. It contains one of the two castles built in Shetlands; this one was constructed in 1600. The village had a population of roughly 900 at the 2011 census.
