About Marple, Greater Manchester
Marple is on the River Goyt and 9 miles (14 km) southeast of Manchester. In 2011, it had a population of 23,686. The town lies along the Peak Forest Canal, containing the Marple Lock Flight and Marple Aqueduct. Marple and Rose Hill are served by two railway stations.
