About Highgate
Highgate is a suburban area of north London at the northeastern corner of Hampstead Heath. It is 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north-northwest of Charing Cross. Until late Victorian times it was a distinct village outside London. Karl Marx and George Eliot are buried in the Victorian Highgate Cemetery.
