About Hartshead
Hartshead is a village in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England, 3.7 miles (6 km) west of Dewsbury. The Walton Cross is believed to be dated from the 11th century. Patrick Brontë met his wife, Maria Branwell, in 1811, when he was parson of Church of St Peter in Harthead. Robin Hood is reputed to have been buried near the village or in the grounds of Kirklees Hall.
